It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and we’re celebrating the incredible educators who go above and beyond every day.
This week, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on Kyle, a passionate intermediate teacher helping students thrive through curiosity, creativity, and connection.
Kyle teaches at John Campbell Public School, part of the Greater Essex County District School Board in Windsor, Ontario. “I primarily work with Grade 7 and 8 students, focusing on Math and Science,” he explains. “It’s an exciting age group because students are starting to grasp more complex concepts, and I get the opportunity to help them make connections between classroom learning and the real world.”
When asked what he loves most about teaching, Kyle doesn’t hesitate.
“What I absolutely love about teaching is the opportunity to inspire curiosity and critical thinking. There’s something magical about watching students take an idea and run with it—asking deeper questions, challenging assumptions, and developing their own unique perspectives. For example, in Science, seeing students design experiments and work through trial and error shows the value of perseverance and creativity. Teaching also allows me to build relationships, not only with students but with their families and the school community. There’s a real sense of fulfillment in being part of someone’s learning journey and knowing you’ve made an impact that might shape their future.”
To support his students’ diverse needs, Kyle uses Curricumate to simplify planning and differentiation.
“Curricumate has streamlined many aspects of my teaching. For instance, I used it to create differentiated lesson plans for fractions in Math—a topic that students often struggle with. The platform suggested hands-on activities like Fraction Bingo, which resonated well with my class and made the subject more accessible to students at varying levels. Additionally, it helps me track student progress effectively. In Science, when we studied ecosystems, I used Curricumate to tailor worksheets for students with different learning needs—some had simplified tasks while others had extension activities. This personalization improved engagement and learning outcomes.”
Kyle also sees how AI can help tackle bigger challenges in education.
“A major challenge in education is addressing diverse learning styles and ensuring equity in the classroom. It’s tough to balance the needs of students who excel with those who require more support, especially in larger classes. AI tools like Curricumate are invaluable here—they help me differentiate instruction efficiently and provide real-time feedback to students, which saves time and increases effectiveness. Another challenge is finding ways to integrate technology meaningfully, rather than having it feel disconnected. AI bridges this gap by suggesting resources and activities that align with curriculum goals while engaging students.”
And for any teacher wondering whether Curricumate is worth trying, Kyle offers this encouragement:
“Curricumate is an incredibly versatile tool that adapts to your teaching needs. It’s user-friendly, saves time, and helps you personalize lessons without feeling overwhelmed. I’d say give it a chance—it’s a small investment with big rewards, especially if you’re looking to enhance engagement and streamline planning. Plus, the ability to automate routine tasks gives you more energy to focus on your students.”
Curricumate automatically generates content for various educational needs, including lesson planning, unit planning, long range planning, creating engaging activities, report card writing, IEPS, as well as a variety of math, literacy, and science tools. With the help of its teacher users, Curricumate is always adding new and improved features revolutionize the way educators reach their students.
